ABOUT HEFEI

Located in the central region of China and in the Yangtze River Delta that is most economically dynamic in China, Anhui is at

the frontier of the economic influence of the developed coastal regions and is engaged in industrial transfer from those

regions. It is the bridgehead that implements the western China development strategy and central China rising strategy,and

enjoys the geographic advantages of connecting western China, coastal China, northern China and southern China. Within a

500km radius of Hefei, there are important cities such as Shanghai, Nanjing and Wuhan, and a population of nearly 500

million, contributing nearly 40% of China’s GDP.
















Hefei is a national second-class regional transportation hub in China. With well developed expressway network leading to all directions,it only takes 2 hours to drive to Nanjing, 4 hours to Shanghai or Wuhan, and less than 1 hour to Wuhu and other provincial major cities.

Six Railways are well connected in Hefei. After the completion of the Huhanrong(Shanghai-Wuhan-Chengdu) express railway in 2007, it will only take 45 minutes from Hefei to Nanjing and a little bit more than 2 hours to Shanghai or Wuhan.

















Hefei Xinqiao Airport is an international standby airport in China. There are over 30 domestic air routes and direct flights to Hongkong.


The Jianghuai Canal under construction will make Hefei a waterway transportation center between Yangtze and Huaihe rivers in the

future. According to the recent and long-term plans, Hefei Port will build two container terminals. After completion, containers from Hefei

can be shipped right through the Yangtze River to ocean-going freighters in Shanghai.

















On June 26 2014, the first cargo train along the new

Eurasian Continental Bridge sets off from Hefei,

central China's Anhui Province. It will cross the

Alashankou and arrive in Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and

other Central Asian countries in a week, and arrive in

Europe in half a month. It signifies that Hefei has the

direct cargo train to Central Asia and Europe, and is

integrated with the Silk Road economic belt.

THE HEFEI HIGH TECH ZONE












Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone was one of the first batch of State-level

high-tech zones ratified by the State Council in 1991.

It covers an area of 128 square kilometers and possesses a permanent resident population ofover 200,000.

With diversified emerging industries, great innovation potential, active financial capital and

rich talent resources, Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone is the core area of

the Hefei Comprehensive National Science Center and has achieved numerous honors,

including being named a National Innovation Demonstration Zone, National Eco-industrial

Demonstration Park, and National Intellectual Property Demonstration Zone. Hefei National

High-tech Industry Development Zone ranked ninth among all the national high-tech zones in 2017.


Hefei is the largest home appliance manufacturing base and industry cluster in China, and the

country’s most influential and competitive home appliance manufacturing center.

The zone has gathered approximately 100 robotics enterprises, attracting about 50 projects now, achieving an

annual output value of 5 billion yuan ($723.35 million).

The China Speech Valley, located in Zone, is managed by Anhui IT Industry Investment & Holdings Co.


The energy conservation and environmental protection industry is one of the eight strategic emerging industries in

Anhui province, and in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone it’s a leader and at the forefront

of the city.

The automobile industry is one of the six leading components of the Hefei National High-tech Industry

Development Zone.

The Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone has more than 400 biomedical companies, over 30

percent of such companies in the province.


Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone boasts abundant innovation resources. A number of collaborative

innovation platforms such as the Institute of Advanced Technology, University of Science and Technology of China and

the CAS (Hefei) Institute of Technology Innovation Co., Ltd. are located here, and establishment of open platforms has

been approved, including Sino-German Intelligent Manufacturing International Innovation Park and Qiaomengyuan,

an industrial cluster area for overseas Chinese talents. A total of 22 key laboratories and 109 technology research

centers at provincial level or above in place. More than 300 technology service agencies have settled in the zone,

including 48 technology incubators and accelerators, covering an area of 2.6 square kilometers. A regional financial

center has formed in Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone, attracting over 80 investment funds.


The total output value of Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone reached 56.24 billion yuan ($8.19 billion)

in 2016, rising by 11.1 percent; the industrial output above designated scale was 177.1 billion yuan. Value added totaled

34.72 billion yuan, with a growth rate of 10.2 percent; fixed assets investment amounted to 43.09 billion yuan, 26.01

billion yuan of which was taken up by industrial investment. Total retail sales of social consumer goods reached 10.58

billion yuan; the total volume of imports and exports was $2.41 billion; a total of 26.3 billion yuan were attracted for

investment and promotion, including $479 million of foreign direct investment and 18.7 billion yuan of industrial

investment. Public revenue reached 2.86 billion yuan, 1.68 billion yuan of which was local fiscal revenue.



The Sino German Intelligent Manufacturing International Innovation Park













The Sino-German Intelligent Manufacturing International Innovation Park was approved by the Ministry of Science and

Technology in November 2016 to further strengthen cooperation on technological research, transformation of scientific

achievements, implementation of joint projects, personnel training and exchange and finance between governments, enterprises

and research institutes of the two countries.

The park is expected to improve bilateral cooperation and promote integration of the Made in China 2025 initiative and the

Industry 4.0 strategy proposed by the German government.

The park will accelerate the gathering of projects, funding, technology and human resources through Sino-German cooperation.

It will be built into an international technology cooperative demonstration base that settles down in Hefei city, serves Anhui

province and radiates through the whole country. It is sustainable, reproducible and easily promoted.

The park will advance cooperation between China and Germany in intelligent manufacturing technology and its industrialization.

Its intelligent manufacturing technology will be strengthened as a pillar of the park’s economic structure.
